Keto 3-Minute Brownie Recipe

Keto Dark Chocolate 3-Minute Brownie Recipe

This recipe for Keto Dark Chocolate Brownies has got to be one of the easiest desserts you can make, and it tastes SO good! Of course you have to like Dark Chocolate, since we are using 100% Pure Cocoa Powder as well as Lily’s Sugar-Free Dark Chocolate Chips. Having all of these common Keto ingredients on hand can be such a life saver when the sweet tooth cravings hit you any time of day.

Don’t feel guilty about eating this, it’s Keto-friendly so it isn’t a cheat it’s a Keto Treat!

When it comes to the Dark Chocolate Chips, I like to personally use the Lily’s Sweets brand Dark Chocolate Chips. They are sweetened with Stevia, rather than some of the other types of sugar-free sweeteners that you might find if you were to buy the typical Russel Stover’s or Hershey’s brand Sugar-Free chocolates. They do cost a little more, but they are worth it.

For the Monkfruit Sweetener, I use the Lakanto Monkfruit Sweetener which I buy at Sprouts. It comes in packets or in a bag, but keep in mind that if you use the kind from the packets like I do in this recipe it is twice as sweet as the kind in the bag. So be sure to compensate if you do. Please do not use the “Monkfruit in the Raw” brand sweetener to make this recipe, as that brand uses non-keto sweetener to blend with their monkfruit and the flavors are also nowhere near as good as the Lakanto product.

  1. I have larger bags of Lakanto monkfruit, not individual packets. Approximately what measurement would equal a packet of the sweetener?

    1. The packets are twice as sweet as the stuff in the bags so you will need to use 3 teaspoons of the stuff in the bag.

      1. I have made this twice. First was not sweet enough, just downright bitter. The Texture was good and smelled good.
Second I doubled the monk fruit packet. And sprinkled a tsp of Swerve in it and it still is not at all sweet. Used all the same products as called for. Did Anyone else have the same experience?

        1. Dark Chocolate and 100% Cocoa is going to be somewhat bitter. They will not taste like Milk Chocolate.

        2. My experience also. Just tasted like bitter cocoa powder.

          1. What brand of monkfruit were you using?

          2. Adding a little thick cream can take some of the bitterness away

  2. I looked up all the carbs for this and it adds up to 42 carbs for all the ingredients you say 2 serving per container for a total of 22 carbs where did the rest go?

    1. Were you accounting for the Dietary Fiber, and that the Monkfruit (which will often show carbs on it’s label) does not have any real carbs in it?

  3. How much SWerve would you use instead if Monkfruit? TY

    1. If you are using the granular swerve I would use about 3 teaspoons, depending on how sweet you like it.

  4. What if I want to make 10 of these and can only use a baking sheet, how can I bake (what temp and time) or microwave?

  5. I don’t use microwaves, how long in the oven, at what temp?

  6. Can you please tell me the dimensions of the pan u used. I do not want use mug.
    Thank u

  7. How long should I bake it if I don’t have a microwave?

  8. Can this be baked in a traditional oven or toaster oven. I’m not a fan of the microwave.

  9. I dont have microwave, help

  10. I made this as instructed. It came out rather dry. Is there something I can do to make it more moist?

    1. You could add more butter 🙂 Or you could also try cooking it at a lower power level on the microwave possibly.

  11. I want to make for my grandchildren. Can I use 9×11 glass baking dish & do I triple recipe? Thank you & have a great & blessed day:-)

  12. thanks this will help me!

  13. Looks great– but I do not do eggs; any substitution??

    1. Mix together flaxseed & water for egg substitution.

  14. I just made this and I loved it! I followed the recipe as written with the exception that I used 3 teaspoons of granular Swerve . (only because that’s what I had on hand) It was the perfect amount of sweetness. The only thing I hink this recipe is missing is salt . In my opinion salt would be great in this recipe … it would enhance the chocolate flavor. Overall great recipe!

  15. Why does the Keto Daily Admin answer substitution questions but ignores all of the questions about using the oven instead of the microwave? Many people who are choosing a healthier lifestyle are ditching their microwaves!

    1. I have never baked this in the oven, so I do not have accurate information on that. Also, not sure if it would rise the same in the oven either, since eggs tend to get light and airy in the microwave.

    2. There is nothing unhealthy about using a microwave. It works the exact same way a stove or oven works: heating a food vibrates the molecules no matter how you’re heating it. And if you’re afraid of its “radiation” then don’t listen to the radio either because microwave oven radiation is in the same category as radio waves. I’m so tired of people letting themselves be led by propaganda. Did you not realize that the same folks who told us microwaves were dangerous also told us that fat is bad, meat is bad, and veganism is healthy? Stop listening to that junk. It’s killing you.

Jeez, if nothing else you will save on your cooling bills using the microwave in summer.

      1. I heard that microwaving kills the enzymes in the food.

  16. I don’t use microwaves…and I don’t see an answer how to cook it in the oven…so, I googled around and someone suggested to put it in a 350 degree oven and watch it lol I am going to try …will prob peek around 15 minutes..since that is how long a muffin bakes for…

    1. I have a recipe for 90 second keto bread with similar ingredients and it has the temps and time for the oven. Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes. Depending on the size of the ramekin (because this ramekin looks bigger than what I am using for my keto bread) but at least 12-15 minutes.

  17. I too would like to know if the recipe can be multiplied and cooked in a larger dish, and if it can be baked in the oven instead of microwave. Thanks!

    1. Yes you can use a regular oven. I doubled the recipe, cooked in a mini loaf pan 5.72×3.31×1.88. For 15 mins @ 375

  18. I think it is great, If you do not use a microwave this is clearly not for you. The title is clear it is a microwave recipe. Google Oven recipe that should get what you’re looking for. Admin it is super yummy Thank you <3

  19. I added a pinch of salt, dash of vanilla, and 1Tbsp coconut oil. It was fantastic!

  20. If I left out the chocolate chips what would the macros be?

    1. Not sure off the top of my head, but I’m not convinced it would taste nearly the same without them. You would need to add more sweetener to compensate for sure or else you will have a bitter mess on your hands.

  21. Can you use coconut flour instead of almond floiur?

    1. I believe so. You generally just use one third the amount of Coconut Flour that Almond Flour recipes call for.

  22. I have been going to the library and checking out Keto cookbooks, lots of recipes in them and help at what to eat. It’s a good way to find out which books you want to buy.

  23. Allergic to nuts so everytime a recipe starts with almond flour I want to cry. Can you substitute coconut flour or something else and still preserve the benefits? Thanks for your help.

    1. @Molly – why do you think that someone who provides you a recipe must test all possible variations and report when you demand? As many food bloggers say . . . “test it, and come back to report your results”.

I am just gratedul to have this resource!

  24. Mine came out tasting extremely dry. What can I do to make it more moist?

    1. You may want to turn down the power on your microwave. Some microwaves are stronger than others. I’ve found that if it turns out dry it just got overcooked.

      1. I just put less seconds, try 87 it made a difference for mine.

  25. Well, mine sure didn’t turn out like the picture or video. WAY TOO dry and not sweet enough, and I used 2 monkfruit packets. I will look for another recipe. Or bake in oven instead of microwave.

    1. Out of curiosity, what brand of Monkfruit did you use? They are all not made the same.

      1. It’s Lakanto

    2. I want to try this recipe. What is the size of the ramekin you’re using please?

  26. I was soooo excited to make this for my family, as I LOVE pulling off great desserts and then tell them that it is HEALTHY and KETO! So I made 5 individual desserts and they all had the texture of saw dust! Terribly disappointed. I followed the directions to a tee and used the microwave as instructed.

    1. Microwaves do come in different wattages. Maybe yours was stronger and overcooked it compared to the microwave I used?

      1. Wha wattage is the microwave used for the recipe?

  27. I made this today and it was delicious! More like cake texture than brownie but still oh so good for a chocolate brownie fix. Man was I disappointed when I read the nutrition label as I was eating because I had to stop at half! Lol thank you for a delicious recipe. Will for sure make it again.

    1. Yes, it is more light and fluffy like Chocolate Cake 🙂

  28. Can you use Stevia instead? And where do you find monk fruit?

    1. You can use a Stevia sweetener too. I bought these Lakanto Monkfruit packets at a Sprouts grocery store.

  29. I made this but it was VERY dry… I made it to the ingredients. Anyone have an idea why so dry…??

    1. Possible that your Microwave is stronger than mine. They do come in varying wattages.

  30. mine came out dry what did i do wrong?

    1. Hi Ella, probably just overcooked it. With microwaves cooking times can vary by wattage and other factors.

  31. Sorry, a bit off topic but, is it a man doing the demonstratig??? The arms are very hairy.
Have noticed this in many of your videos.

    1. Hi Janine, there are two of us that make the videos (1 Man and 1 Woman). In the brownie videos that was the guy 😉

  32. I’m in South Africa and we don’t have monkfruit or swerve sweetners. Can I use Xylitol instead and how much?

  33. I just made this and devoured it. I didn’t add the nuts and used 1/2 Truvia and 1/2 Pyure. I cooked for less time..around 75 seconds in Pyrex flat bottom “bowl.” YUMMO..so fudgy.

  35. just made this`great recipe I loved it. put a little Monkfruit sweetener in the batter as well as sprinkled on top,

  36. I’ve been making this now for months at least twice a week what I do is leave out the chocolate chips and the nuts replace the chocolate chips with 1 tablespoon of Hershey’s sugar free chocolate syrup and add pinch of finely ground sea salt then microwave for 2 minutes not 90 after it comes out before it’s cooled add a quarter tablespoon of Hershey’s sugar free chocolate syrup to the top of it spreading evenly put it in the icebox for about an hour or two till everything gets cold in the syrup gets firmer cut sermon Joy because this thing is going to be rich
